Hi everyone, we will introduce Indonesian Culture. Below we are dancing the Caping dance. Caping What is Caping. Caping is a head covering that is usually used by farmers to go to the fields. Indonesia is an agrarian country, where the average population works as a farmer. So, farmers usually use caping to protect themselves from the hot sun. In your country, is there any caping? Caping is an Indonesian icon that needs to be preserved, there is a dance that dances using Caping. We usually call that dance the Caping Dance. Caping dance originates from East Java. This dance is usually danced by a group of people can be 4 to 5 people even there are more. Caping dance is a traditional dance that we introduce to foreign students. Interesting right? In addition, we were also introduced to batik. What is batik? Batik is a craft that has high artistic value and has been a part of Indonesian culture (especially Java) for a long time. The tradition of making batik was originally a hereditary tradition, so that sometimes a motif can be identified from a particular family batik. Some batik may indicate the status of a person. Batik is made on other materials such as silk and other synthetic materials. Batik motifs are formed with liquid wax using a tool called a canting for fine motifs, or a brush for large-sized motifs, so that the liquid wax seeps into the fabric fibers. In connection with the photo below, on October 2, 2019 in Indonesia as the National Batik Day. Foreign students also took part in the National Batik day by making 100 meters of batik.
